Case summary
Dalit Woman Saranya was working as PC in Indian Overseas Bank on a temporary basis; she is married and have two children and her husband Theerthamalai is working as a Driver. On 27.6.2016 she was abused in filthy languages referring to her caste name by Kumar and Panchayat President Kavitha, W/o of Kumar. Saranya was mentally depressed of this incident and she comitted suicide by burning herself on 27.6.2016. Immediately her neighbours took her to the JIPMER hosptial, Puducherry and the next day 28.6.2016 she died because of severe bruns and damage in her internal organs.
