Laxmidhar Naik, S/o- Late Bauri Bandhu Naik, aged about 74 years lived with wife Kanak Naik, aged 70 years and two sons Prafulla Naik & Pradip Naik. He is a retired employee of Indian Railways. He is of very calm and quiet attitude. The house of Kelu Maharana aged about 62 years S/o- Jogendra Maharana is situated adjacent to the house of Laxmidhar Naik. There were many occasions of verbal duel between the two families due to putting garbage in the campus of Laxmidhar Naik by Maharana family, but it never went to Police. On 18.04.2021 again Maharanas threw garbage including egg cover and vegetable skin in the campus of Laxmidhar Naik. This was protested by the Naiks. Binod Moharana, S/o Kelu Maharana got angry and rushed into the house of laxmidhar Naik, abused him with slangs aspersing caste name, assaulted him with a shaft and pushed him hard so that Laxmidhar fell down. He also assaulted the women folk who come to rescue Laxmidhar. Laxmidhar sustained bleeding head injury and was taken to Hospital at Jatani. From there he was referred to AIIMS, Bhubaneswar. At AIIMS, Bhubaneswar there was no bed vacant, hence referred to SCB Medical College Hospital, Cuttack, where he succumbed to the injury. Basing on the written complaint of Pradip, (Son of Laxmidhar) the written FIR No 93 was registered.
