Case summary

Details of the Case:

Gudem Venkaiah and Venkatamma, a couple are residents of Venkammaguda, Timmareddyguda panchayat, Ranga Reddy district.  They belong to S.C. Madiga caste and are wage laborers.   They have four daughters and two sons. All the daughters are married.  The youngest son is Jogugudem Jangaiah.  He studied up to Intermediate and is now jobless.  He attended a free course in Chevella in computer training run by the government for unemployed youth.   This course was run in a vocational college in Vurella Road.  In the course of undergoing this computer training he developed friendship with one Ms. Anjum, hailing from Kothapalli village.  This friendship turned into love and they were moving together.  Later, Jangaiah joined as driver in E com Express and settled as driver.   Then also they moved together and lived together.  At that time the family members of Ms. Anjum attacked Jangaiah, bet him and took away Ms. Anjum.   They complained in the Shamshabad Police Station.  After some time Jangaiah shifted to Sankarapalli and was working there. At that time Ms. Anjum came to Jangaiah and started living with him.  She was so fond of him and said that she cannot live without him.  While they were together in Sankarapalli, the family members of Ms. Anjum attacked Jangaiah again and complained in Sankarapalli Police Station.  While these developments are taking place, Jangaiah sold his lands and got Rs.12/ lakhs.  He purchased a motorcycle from out of the money.  At this time, Ms. Anjum told Jangaiah that if he converts to Islam they can marry and their family members would not object.   Accordingly, he converted to Islam and they got married in February 2019.  After marriage they led their family life in Venkammaguda village along with his parents.  They lived happily for about 7 months.  In October 2019, they shifted to Nagarguda and hired a room for rent.  At this time, Jangaiah gave a loan of Rs.2,10,000 to the family of Ms. Anjum.   In November, 2019 the family members of Anjum took away his motorcycle also.  One day, the maternal aunt of Anjum came and took her away on the pretext of taking her to hospital.  When Anjum did not return even by night, Jangaiah rang up to her maternal aunt and enquired why she was not brought back.  Then she told in harsh words that Anjum will not be sent back and threatened him not to come to Anjum again.  She threatened him that they would kill him if he comes to Anjum again.

Later also the family members of Anjum regularly threatened him continuously to forget Anjum.  Frustrated at these threats and unable to bring Anjum, Mr. Jangaiah consumed pesticide on at about 9.30 p.m. 27-11-2019.   He wrote a detailed suicide note mentioning the names of persons who threatened him.  He mentioned the names of Vajeed, Md Javeed, Md Majeed, Md Shobuddin, Shaheena, Mujameel, Anjum.  Noticing that Jangaiah consumed poison, the house owner Krishna took him to Chevella hospital and intimated the matter to his family members.  At Chevella, the doctors administered the initial treatment and he was shifted to Osmania Hospital.    He recovered slightly and was discharged from Osmania hospital on 29-11-2019.   On 2-12-2019 he was re-admitted in Osmania Hospital.   While undergoing treatment at Osmania hospital Mr. Jangaiah died on 5-12-2019.  The mother of Jangaiah complained to the Shabad Police Station on the same day.
