Bhagwania Devi, her son Ravidas and his friend Lalbabu Paswan are resident of Kurji village under Patna Sadar police station in Patna Dist., belong to Scheduled caste community.
On the incident 23rd July 2009 at Kurji Village of Patna a middle-aged Dalit woman namely Bhagwania Devi, her son Ravidas and his friend Lalbabu Paswan were listening to Hindi songs on mobile phone. This was disliked by some dominant caste Bhumihar community men from the same village, who objected and asked them to stop. When they ignored their threat and continued to listen to the songs, the irate dominant caste group allegedly abused and severely beaten them up. Ravidas was seriously injured and was admitted to a private hospital.
A case was registered in Patna Sadar police station on 23/07/2009 against the assailants, however non them was arrested. The accused persons are harassing the victims to compromise the case and so the victims are under threat now.
Kaikala Chandra Leela, aged 43, SC madiga, was married to Kaikala Edukondala Venkata Ramana Rao, OC Kapu resident of Vijayanagar colony, Machavaram, Vijayawada, Krishna Dist. They have two girl children K.Anusha and K. Jhansi Lakshmi aged 19 and 17. Venkata Ramana Rao developed extra marital relationship with another woman named Veeramma three years ago and started neglecting his family and stopped even giving money for meeting the basic needs. When Chandra Leela questioned him he started harassing physically. When she requested to think about their children he said that they are not his children and abused her in the name of caste and threatened to kill her. Seeking justice she approached DSS.
