Mr. Munusaamy and his wife Amsavalli belonged to the Scheduled caste and resident of Melmalaiyanur Block Melachrery village in Villupuram District. Their elder son Nithishkumar had gone to his grandmother’s home in melacherry village on 19.07.2020 around 5.30PM. Nithishkumar took a pakoda from his grandmother lakshmi and went near the Village Panchayat office and started eating. And then Anbazhagan of Uudaiyar caste (dominant caste) asked Nithish Kumar that “who are you, why are you eating pakoda here?”, Nithishkumar had replied him that he has come to his grandmother lakshmi’s house. The next moment Anbazhagan had verbally abused Nithishkumar with filthy words and abused by referring to the caste name. Anbazhagan and karthikeyan brutally attacked Nithishkumar with a knife, wooden logs and iron rod. Nithishkumar was severely injured in the brutal attack. That same night around 8.00 PM Nithishkumar was admitted in Gingee government hospital as an outpatient and got treatment and returned home. Next day 20.7.2020 at 11.00PM Nithishkumar had lodged a complaint at Gingee police station. The accused persons were arrested under SC/ST POA amendment act -2015.
on 20.07.2020 FIR has been registered at the Gingee PS with the crime no: 2577/2020 u/s 147, 148, 294(b),323, 324, 427,506(ii) IPC r/w: 3(1)(r), 3(1)(s), 3(ii)(Va) – SC/ST PoA Act.
