Case summary

Uchhupada Nateimala is a tribal habitation in Uchhupada Gram Panchyaat under Tangi P.S. area. 12/13 tribal families have been inhabit there for over 30 years. All of them are landless without IAY/PMAY houses. 75% Children in the Sahi are dropout from School education in order to support their families by daily labour; few of them have been working as drivers. Nanda Chattar and Kuni Chattar are one of the tribal families in the Cluster; Nanda is a Truck Driver and Kuni is a Daily labourer.

 

     On 07.12.2021 at about 3.30 P.M when both Nanda & Kuni were not present at their house, their 10 year old daughter Srimati was playing outside. At that time one Basant Swain of Uchhupada had gone to that Sahi and asked Srimati about her father & mother. The Girl replied that both of them were absent. Then Basant Swain asked her to get him a glass of water. Srimati went inside her house to fetch water. The accused followed her to inside the house and forcibly put her down and raped her. She cried; hearing her crying sound the neighbour went inside to ask what happen. Finding the neighbour, she cried loudly. The accused escaped as he ran away. The neighbour informed her father over Phone.

 

After some time, Nanda and Kuni (parents of the victim) came back home and found their daughter in blood. Srimati narrated the incident to her mother. She was taken to Tangi Health Centre and from there to SCB medical College, Cuttack. There she was treated with OPD ticket no .102270015108 and sent back home at early hours of 8th December. Complaint was filed during the 8th and registered as Tangi p.s Case no 239 u/s 376 AB IPC, 6 POSCO Act and 3(1)(w-i) (2) (v) (va) SC ST PoA Act.
