Ganasekar, belongs to Dalit Parayar Community, is a resident of Tamil Nagar, TN Palayam, Gopi Taluk, Erode District. On 03/06/2010, around 12.30 pm he son Tamilthilaham (9) studying 4^th standard when to take bath in a nearby pool. While playing in the pool, he accidently hit on a stone and sustained injury in his eye brow, leading to heavy blood leakage. Ganasekar and his wife Ms. Latha, rushed him to the house of Dr. Thenmozhi, working in TN Palayam Government Hospital, fearing the injury may lead to loss of eye sight. Innocent Tamilthilaham, get into house without seeking permission. Intolerant and infuriated Dr. Thenmozhi Ramasamy and Dr. Ramasamy, considering this as deed by Tamilthilaham as sign of pollution, verbally abused the couple referring derogatory regarding caste. Then they called Banglapudur Police Station Sub-Inspector Venkatesh Prabhu, Spl. SI Vengkutti to their house. Both the Police SI brutally assaulted Ganasekar and dragged him into the Police Van to take him to the custody. People who witnessed this atrocity objected this brutal attack, and staged a protest laying siege infront of the Tahsildar Office. Seeing the public protest, the two police SI left them without taking Ganasekar and his wife into custody. Due to the protest organized by the general public and the Autodrivers, the problem was solved amicably with the intervention of the Tahsildar Office.

Inorder to escape from the accusation for the discriminatory practice and brutal assault, both the doctors filed a false counter complaint against Ganasekar. Hence Ganasekar was remanded for 30 days in the jail and was subject to mental illness and torture. Dominant caste hindu government officials being biased in fovour of Dr. Thenmozhi and her husband Dr. Ramsamy, negligent to take action against the Doctor family. Ganasekar and his family were not provided any monetary relief having experienced this atrocity.

Brief details of the incident:

Yarlagadda Ammulu (36) w/o Chanti Babu SC madiga by caste is the resident of Sarpavaram in Kakinada of East Godavari district. They have two daughters. 10 years back they purchased house site of 6 cents in Sarpavaram. Later they went to Andaman, and settled there and were doing cloths business. In the year 2004 they lost everything in Tsunami. In this helpless situation they returned back to Sarpavaram empty handed. In the year 2009 they purchased material and started to construct house in their site and completed one floor. As per the documents an open place on the southern side of her site is meant for path to walk. But Chikkala Suryanarayana has raised an objection saying that the site belongs to him and if she pays Rs. 30,000/- then only he will allow her to walk. As there was no other way Ammulu agreed to pay the amount, has paid Rs 10,000/- as an advance and has asked for some time to pay the remaining amount of Rs 20,000/-. Though Ammulu objected this stating that the way belongs to all and she need not pay for it, but nobody supported her. Suryanarayana often used to harass Ammulu for payment of the remaining amount. Since she failed to pay, he did not allow her to continue the construction and on many occasions he has even threatened the workers and sent them away. The material brought for the construction purpose got wasted and 50 bags of cement was spoiled. Later Ammulu approached the police, the police made a compromise between both of them, but in vain. Suryanarayana dismantled the compound wall of Ammulu and lodged a false complaint on Ammulu.  On 2. 6. 2010 around 8am in the morning Ammulu was fetching drinking water and a boy observed that a snake was there among the heap of bricks. She got the snake killed and was setting aside all the construction material. In the mean time Suryanarayana came and started abusing her in the name of caste saying “ eme madiga munda, lanjadana, neeku enni sarlu cheppali, a punta nadani (you madiga bitch, I told you several times that the path is mine)”. He caught hold of her hair, pulled her down and beat her up. In mean time Chikkala Chinna B/o Suryanarayana and 4 other women joined Suryanarayana and abused her in the name of caste. Ammulu fell down in an unconscious state. Later Ammulu lodged a complaint in Sarpavaram PS. A case was registered bearing Cr No. 127/2010 U/s 323, 506, 384 r/w 34 of IPC and 3(1)(x) of SC/ST (PoA) Act.

The village Morpura is located in Vadodara district, which is 8 to 10 K.M. far from Taluka place Dabhoi. People of Bariya, Vasava and other communities are living in the village. Untouchability is not practiced openly. There are around 100 to 125 families in the village which includes Vasava and Bariya. The village panhcayat is set up with three villages. The people of the village have to go to Dabhoi for employment.

Nishaben Dineshbhai Vasava belongs to tribal community. The victim is minor. On 31/05/2010 there was a marriage in the village. In the evening they had dance party. The victim came to see the dance party with her father. The accused gave Rs. 10/- to the victim and took her near pond and under the tree he raped her. On coming to know regarding the incident mother of victim Manjulaben filed FIR against the accused and police registered the offence under section 376 of the IPC and section 3(1) (xi) and of the SCST Prevention of Atrocities Act.

Brief Details of the Case:

Divya Sri is the daughter of Vara Prasada Rao and Jayamma, residents of Mangalagunta Palem, Narsapuram, W G Dt. They are agricultural workers. As they did not have children they adopted Divya Sri from a hospital when she was an infant. When she has grown up they came to know that she is mentally retarded. As they have to earn their daily livelihood, they were forced to leave Divya Sri alone at home and go for work. One day Ella Rambabu of the same village mason by occupation came to the house of Vara Prasada Rao’s house for construction of wall. Ram Babu is married and has two children. Having noticed the situation that Divya Sri is mentally retarded, stays alone at home during day time, he sexually exploited her. As Divya Sri had vomitings her parents took her to the doctor. They were astonished when the doctor informed them that Divya Sri was 3 months pregnant. Having come to know that it was Ram Babu, Vara Prasada Rao and his wife Jayamma went to his house and asked him. Ram Babu and his family members reacted seriously and said how dare you come and ask me, abused them on the name of caste. He also said that he satisfied the lust of his daughter on her instigation. He also warned them of dire consequences and said to go and complain with whomever they want.

With the help of DSS, Vara Prasada Rao approached the police and lodged a complaint on 22^nd May 2010.  The case was registered in Narsapur Rural Police station of West Godavari district.
