Palle Chinnamma (18) D/o Hanmiah, Madiga (SC) community is the resident of Kummera Village of Tadoor Mandal in Mahabubnagar District. She used to go for the grazing their own goats. About 9 months ago when she was grazing their goats in the field away from the village, Kankanda Ranjeeth Reddy S/o Narshimha Reddy belongs to Reddy caste of the same village lured her and promised to have their marriage soleminsed at Tirupathi Devesthenam. He requested to satisfy his sexual desire, believing that he will marry her they continued their sexual relationship. As a consequence Palle Chinnamma became pregnant. On 15 February 2007 Chennamma asked Ranjeeth Reddy to marry her as soon as, as she is pregnant. After hearing this Ranjeeth reacted and abused her by her caste and he kicked hard on her stomach. She informed all the matter to her parents and what had happened. As she was taken to the Hospital she informed that she was pregnant.
On 16 February 2007 Kum.Palle Chennamma lodged a complaint at Tadoor Police Station against the rapist. Accused was arrested and got bail. Rs 25,000/- was paid as Compensation. Charge sheet is not filed.
The practice of untouchability is rampant in Mandal village in Bhilwara Dist. The Dalit community is being treated as inhuman beings in the village even in the area. On July 2, 2006 two Dalit children, Banti and Monu purchased ice-cream in saucers at a shop belonging to Mahavir Bhati. When the Shopkeeper learned about the children belonged to Valmiki community, he snatched the saucers and thrashed them. The shopkeeper abused them caste discriminatory words “Bhangi, Bhangda, etc. Further to teach a lesson to Dalits a mob of 50 -60 people in the presence of police officials attacked, ransacked looted, beat Dalits, pillaged household goods and insulted women. An FIR in this regard was registered on 03.07.06. Later the Dominant caste people imposed social boycott on Dalits. The shopkeepers were instructed not to sell groceries, vegetables or any grocery items to Dalits or else they would be fined. Police did not register any criminal case in connection with the social boycott.
Charge sheet in the Case is filed on 10/10/06. Case investigated by D.S.P Mr. Shanti Lal Chobisa. 29 Accused arrested and bailed out from Rajasthan high Court. Trial of the Case is pending disposal in Bhilwara Dist -SC/ST Court. Compensation of Rs.50, 000/- to 6 women paid as per SC/ST (PoA) RULES 1995 & Rs. 15,000/- to two families paid by DC but not under SC/ST (PoA) RULES 1995.
