Rasakkapalayam village, is 6 km away from Pollachi, Tirupur district. In this dominant caste hindu Kounder community people practice untouchability and discrimination against the Dalit Arunthathiar community. In this village, Dalit elders were referred by their name even by the young caste hindu people and they are not given due respect by the caste hindus. There are two hair saloon in this village owned by kounders. In this saloons dalits were not allowed and they are discriminated. Sekar belongs to Dalit community,  vomited on the street which is common to both the community. The infuriated and intolerant caste hindus, assaulted Sekar and Murugasen, both belongs to dalit community. Following this attack on the two dalits, caste hindus again assaulted dalits of the Rasakkapalayam. Kumar S/o Chinna Palani, filed a complaint with the Mahalingapuram Police station, regarding this mass atrocity. Hence FIR was filed 230/19 U/s 147, 148, 323, 324, of IPC and 3(1)(x) of SC/ST PoA Act.

On 27/04/2008, opposing the registration of case against the Kounders, Kounder community of Rasakkapalayam, staged a road blockade. Following this FIR has been filed against 25 caste hindu Kounders. Dalit women Mariammal w/o Palanisamy, was verbally abused and derogatory referred regarding caste name by the kounder women, when she went to the women public toilet. Hence a case has been filed against the kounder women with Cr. No. 233/09 U/s 147 of IPC and 3(1)(x) of SC/ST PoA Act 1989.

Kounder community people filed a false compliant, accusing physical assault by the dalits. Under this false complaint,  a case has been filed, 231/09 U/s 143,341, 427 of IPC.

Kudankulam village was situated in Radhapuram taluk, Tirunelveli district. There were five Ararunthathiyar family, three hundred Paraya families and 2500 people were living in this village. Here is one Murugan temple which belongs to all classes of people. Every  year they were celebrating “Sri Mruugan Umbrella” festival for this celebration they organized a 10 member group to lead the whole festival programme. This group took in charge of folk dance, drama and others. For 2008 this temple festival was directed by Mr.Gopal  belongs to Nadar community. He assembled a ten member group to implement all the works. Among the entire ten member Mr.Kaliraj(25) who belongs to Aarunthathiya community. Mr.Gopal issued badges to the entire ten members to organize the programme perfectly.

On 19.04.2008, Murugan temple festival was celebrated in a great enthuse that thme they performed one drama under the name of “Live to Live”. This drama was performed opposite to the temple front yard. The responsiblility of the group is to maintain silence among the mob dring programme hour.  During the work some caste Hindu youths came to Mr.Kalairaj and commanded to remove the badge. He told that this badge was given to themple organizing group so, “I will not give this badge to you”. They started attacking Kalairaj severly in chin, chest and stomach. Some of the culprit wre Mr.Prabakaran, Mr.Selvakumar’s cousin Duraipalam, Mr.Vijayakumar, and Mr.Muthupandian referred caste name and told that dalit should not be a member in temple festivl. Mr. Kalairak screamed out of pain suddenly all the viewers of drama present in the occurrence place. The victim mother Ms.Aamaravathy and brother Saravanan pleaded for a long time to rescue Kaliraj from the wild caste Hindu youths. Some police officers were arrived to igve protection for the village people. They came to the spot and recued Kaliraj and admitted in Vignesh Hospital for First aid treatment. But the police did not arrest the thugs immediately.

The day morning Gopal nadir were to police station along with Kaliraj to give complaint. In this complaint what they stated means “Please take some further steps to arrest the ruffians those who were giving trouble in the temple festival. But he purposely avoided the fact to prevent his caste people from crime and law.

After retuned from police station Kalairaj was suffered from cardiac arrest and admitted in Tirunelveli GH as a ward patient on 20.04.2008 evening 3.35 and retuned to home on 21.04.2008They went to Kudankulam police station to give complaint. Before that police inspector came to GH and get statement from the victim. They filed the case under 72/2008 section 147, 294(b), 323 IPC r/w 3(1)(x) of SC/ST PoA act. 

Mr. Gopal belongs to Dalit Community, reside at Kongunagar pudur, Gudimangalam, Udumalaipettai Taluk, Coimbatore District. He is living with his parents, wife and children. He working as a agricultural worker in his village. On 19.04.2008 Mr.Gopal went to Ramu devar Maligai shop and tea shop which was located in his village, he asked pans and betel-nut for money. But he denied to give pans and betel-nuts. Since he asked reasons why you din’t not give pans and betel- nuts. Suddenly Mr.Ramu Devar got angry he said that we did not give any things to Dalits.

Following that how Mr. Ramu Devar and his wife Ms.Vellaiyammal were abused him in filthy words and derogatory referred by caste name. Then Mr.Ramu devar was attacked him by using iron rod. He was brutally attacked by Ramu and his wife Vellaiyammal. Following that he was lodge a complaint against Ramu Devar and Vellaiyammal in Gudimangalam police station. This case was pending trial in Coimbatore police station. 

Mr. Marimuthu (45) belongs to dalit community, reside at Arijana colony, Kethalrai, Dharapuram Taluk, Erode District.  He is living with his wife Ammavasai. He working as a former. He was cultivating his seven acre land. This land was located in Pulavadi village near to Mr.Palanisamy Gownder land. Mr. Palanisamy belongs to Caste Hindu Community. Mr.Marimuthu have rights to irrigate water to his land by Palanisamy land path way and wake path way.

On 12.04.2008 Mr.Marimuthu went to his land by Palanisamy land pathway. Mean while Mr.Palanisamy and his wife Ramathal came and abused by filthy words “ How dare dalit can come this way”? who gave rights to come my land? And “ Dalit prostitute son how you can come by land pathway?. Both were derogatory referred by caste name and abused by filthy words. Since Mr.Marimuthu lodged a complaint in Gundadam police station against Mr.Palanisamy and his wife Ms.Ramathal. He was remanded 30 day prison. 

Kavita lives in the village Bagaur with her parents. On 18^th April 2008, Kavita was sleeping in the room with her mother and sisters. As their house was under construction and there were no doors for the rooms, anyone could enter easily. At around 2 am - 3 am accused namely Pappu alias Vinod, Dharmendra, Bharat Kangaria, Harphool Meena, Shyamal Meena, and others came into a Jeep No- RJ- 18-TA-0087 on which ‘on government duty’ was written. They entered the room; clutched Kavita’s mouth with a handkerchief on which some sedative drug was poured which made Kavita unconscious. They picked Kavita out of the house and took her to near Satyan’s house which is close to her home. Vinod, Dharmendra raped her. Early in the morning when Kavita’s mother woke up she did not find Kavita there. She and her other daughters Sunita and Sarita started searching for Kavita. They found Kavita sleeping outside Satyan’s home on a cot between Pappu and Dharmendra in half bared situation. On seeing Kavita’s mother, both the accused ran away from there. As Kavita was unconscious that moment her mother and sisters made her wear clothes and took home. When her mother again came to talk to the accused, all of them ran away in their Jeep no. RJ 18 TA 0087 from the place of incident.

When in the evening her father came home, they narrated the whole incident to him. Thus they went to police station for lodging the FIR on 23^rd April 2008 and registered the case against the accused. But instead of helping the victim, police helped the culprits and registered an FIR no. 145/08 dt. 29^th April 2008 u/s 143, 452, 323, 354, 379 IPC against the victim from the accused side alleging that Kavita and her family unlawfully entered Roshan Singh’s house and beat his wife Pratibha and tore her clothes. When she shouted, neighbors came there running. On seeing people coming, they ran away after snatching her gold chain.

Many strikes and rallies were conducted which lasted for 35-40 days by which they pressurized the police and authorities to submit the charge sheet against the accused and render justice to them.
