Dalits deprived of water resources of the state gov. by Rajputs- Thada ladoli village

  • Summary:: This incident happened in Ladoli village in District Una of H.P. This village is 10km away from Tehsil Amb. In this village there are 100 families belonging to Chamar caste, 10 from Rajput, 7 Muslim, 3 bhramins and 8 Gujjar families. The major problem faced by the villagers was water supply. The Dalit families have more farm land than the Rajputs, Bhramins in the village and some in the adjacent village Panjoa. In 2006, irrigation plan was proposed by the government under Special Component Plant (SCP) in Thada Ladolu village. The Government demanded land from Dalits to set up tube-well for the irrigation purpose, however all the Dalit families refused to give their land, but amongst them Sanjay Kumar s/o Prakash Chand gave 6 marle of land to the government. In 2006 the construction began. 2009 when the distribution started a Rajput named Sham lal went to the Jal Board and made sure that all the pipes to be diverted to his farm. Due to this none of the Dalit family got water supply. Case is compromised.

Dalit’s corpse denied place in public burial ground- Bathu village

  • Summary:: This incident happened at Bathu village of District Una in H.P. In 2008 Munshi Ram aged 78 belonging to Chamar caste expired. The members of Chamar caste took his body to cemetery in the burial ground. They had just started the ritual when Kashmir Singh s/o Labhu Ram who belonged to Saini (OBC) caste, told Dharampal s/o late Munshi Ram that he should clean the ashes etc after it gets cold and must throw it in the river, because you supposed not to cremate dead bodies here, it will ritually pollute others. Dharampal did as per Kashmir Singh. Later he complained to Panchayat President about the matter. During the panchayat meeting Kasdhmir Singh defended himself by saying that he asked Dharampal to do so because if everybody leaves ashes there, then a heap of ashes would get collected. Later he accepted his fault. Case is compromised.

    Mani belongs to dalit community, reside at Subanoor village, RS Aanaipalayam taluk, Erode district. He is designated as a ward member in Subanoor union. In this union nearly forty families are belongs to the caste Hindus. These caste Hindus possessed coconut oil mills farms and gardens. What a pity here means Dalits people are against dalit and favored to Nayakkars. Mani has been elected as a union secretary in Anaipalayam union for the second ward member. After a long struggle he won 110 votes differences. He has been very much dedicative and faithful to his position.

     

    On 23.03.2008 there has been no drinking water is available in this village, so the village people suffered a lot, on 17.03.2008 night 9.30 they have got a drinking water in perumal kovil pipe. The village people were rushed and fill up the pots with drinking water that time some of his neighbours Ms.Selvi, Ms.Palaniammal, and others also fill up their pots with drinking water. In the mean while Mr.Kannatti third ward member came and asked to off the water immediately. After a few minutes Mr.Pattan came along with union president Mr.A.S.Sinnasamy Nayakar. He came and call mani by filthy language to refer caste name, “Why you did not close the Valve quickly”? Who gave rights to speak law and rule? You are a great headache to this Panchayat. As well he used derogatory words to scold Mr.Mani his mother Ms.Karunaiammal has been threatened by Ms.Annamal. At once mani filed a case against the Panchayat Leader. But the police officials filed fake case against the victim.

Annoyance Provoked to Murder a Dalit Youth

  • Summary:: Dinesh Chandru (26) S/o Suresh Chandru, resident of Azadnagar village under the jurisdiction of Gangaghat Police Station, Unnao District belongs to Dalit Community (Chamar). He was living with his parents and his four sisters and he was working as a charted accountant. The Perpetrator Pappu Lodhi belonging to Lodh community had the habit of visiting Dinesh’s family regularly, since he has four sisters. Since Pappulodhi was not in good natured Dinesh stopped him to come to his house. This did not appeal to him. On 16.03.08 Dinesh had gone out to buy some medicine at Om Medical shop nearby his place. Keeping this in mind when he was coming back from the shop Pappulodh shot him. All of a sudden he fell down and became unconscious. Later Phoul chand the brother of Suresh Chand found the victim on his way and took him to the Gangaghat Police Station where he filed the case. The inspector guided Phoulchand to take Dinesh to Urshila the hospital, where he declared dead. After that his dead body was taken for the Post mortem at Hallet. The FIR was registered on the same day 16.03.08 FIR no.757/08,u/s 307/504/506 IPC, 3(2)5 of SC/ST Act and the perpetrator was also arrested and he is jail. But so far the victim’s family has not yet got any compensation.

    Undurti Padma Jyothi, D/o Satyanarayana is studying 7th standard.  Due to poor economic background she joined as domestic worker in Surya Kumari’s Residence in Modekurru.  Surya Kumari works in court.  Nandikam Phani Kumar, aged 18 years, S/o Surya Kumari, BC Kamsala by caste, seduced Jyothi and developed physical relation with her.  Consequently, she conceived and was in 8th month of conception.  Phani Kumar’s parents offered money to her parents and prevented them from disclosing to anyone.  This incident was complained in the Kothapeta PS on 15.03.2008.
